Buffers and Biochemicals
TRIS AMINO™ Buffer, Tris (hydroxymethyl) Aminomethane
TRIS AMINO™ Buffer is designed for life science applications where high-purity TRIS AMINO is required but USP/EP compliance is not needed. This product performs well as a buffer and is highly soluble in water, has insignificant light adsorption and is quite stable under normal ambient conditions.
TRIS AMINO™ Crystals
TRIS AMINO™ Crystals are typically used in life science applications as a raw material for further processing, custom synthesis and formulating, where the highest purity is not required and USP/EP compliance is not needed. These crystals play an important role in the production, storage and use of enzymes for medical diagnostic assays, preparation of alkaline phosphate buffers, acidimetric standards and the preparation of TRIS AMINO salts for non-dissociating buffer systems used in electrophoretic techniques.

Alkanolamines
Alkyl alkanolamines and their derivatives are widely used in the production of pharmaceutical products. N-methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) is an intermediate in the production of analgesics that have sedative and antispasmodic effects. Alkanolamines are used in antihistamines, antimalarials, antibiotics, local anesthetics, antidepressants and muscle relaxants.
CARBOWAX™ Polyethylene Glycols (PEGs) and Methoxypolyethylene Glycols (MPEGs)
CARBOWAX™ SENTRY™ Polyethylene Glycols (PEGs) and Methoxypolyethylene Glycols (MPEGs) are used as excipients and active pharmaceutical ingredients valued for lubricity, binding and filler capabilities, solubilization and other properties. Chlorinated Organics
Chlorinated organics are commonly used in all phases of production for many types of pharmaceutical products. Uses include feedstock, tablet coatings and solvents for extraction and purification. In addition, many Chlorinated Organics are used in the coatings needed to manufacture x-ray film.
Divinylbenzene (DVB)
For the pharmaceutical industry, polymer applications using divinylbenzene include enzyme and coenzyme immobilization, and binding of biologically active proteins such as penicillin acylase.
DOWEX™ Ion Exchange Resins
DOWEX™ ion exchange resins can be used for recovery, isolation, and concentration of a variety of pharmaceutical products from fermentation broths. A wide range of commercial products are produced today using fermentation, synthetic processing, or a combination there-of. These range from products such as animal grade amino acids, antibotics, food and chemical grade organic acids, vitamins, pharmaceuticals, and fine chemicals.
Ethyleneamines
Several pharmaceutical products use ethyleneamines as raw materials in their production, primarily ethylenediamine (EDA) and Piperazine 68% AQ. (PIP).
FILMTEC™ reverse osmosis
FILMTEC™ reverse osmosis full fit elements are designed to minimize stagnant areas and to meet stringent USP-purified water (PW) and water for injection (WFI) standards in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications. Heat Transfer Fluids
DOWTHERM™ Synthetic Organic and SYLTHERM™ Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids include broad temperature range fluids ideal for single fluid heating and cooling in pharmaceutical batch processing. SYLTHERM XLT Fluid in particular offers a favorable regulatory profile, low odor, and heat transfer performance in pharmaceutical processing service.
Oxygenated Solvents
Diisobutyl Ketone (DIBK), Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK) and Isophorone are commonly used as processing solvents in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals.
OPTIM™ Synthetic Glycerine
When high level of purity (>99.7%) is needed and an absence of microbial activity is mandatory, this odorless, naturally sweet glycerine has extensive applications in pharmaceuticals and as a Kosher food additive.
Propylene Glycols
PG USP/EP is used as an excipient or solvent in oral, topical and injectable drugs; solvents, carriers, emollients, dispersants and stabilizers in fragrances and cosmetics.
Propylene Oxide
When propylene oxide reacts with water, it yields monopropylene glycol (MPG). Other co-products include: di- and tri-propylene glycols (DPG and TPG respectively).
